Routine exam: It is routine to send tissues to be evaluated by the pathologist. The tissue is typically inflammation or a cyst and they just want to confirm this. Do not worry. It is very rare that it is something other than this.

Most medical and dental insurance companies also require that pathology report with a diagnostic code in order to pay a claim for the procedure.
