Pain in pregnancy: There can be many causes of pain in pregnancy. The most important thing to rule out is preterm contractions or preterm labor. Other causes for this specific problem could be degenerating uterine fibroids or stretching pain of the urachus, which extends from the top of the bladder to the umbilicus. Call your obstetrician if this is persistent, and make sure you are safe.
