Bug bites: Some insects can cause a venomous bite, meaning it can cause redness and swelling and itching. If it is really bad you should have it checked out to make sure you do not have cellulitis and if needed the doc can prescribe antibiotics. Meanwhile you can try some over the counter antihistaminic like benadryl (diphenhydramine).
