Splinting: Most mallet fingers are due to a ruptured tendon. Some involve a bone fracture. Both can be treated by full time splinting for 2 months followed be night time only splinting for 1 month. Although you can probably do this yourself, it is best to be evaluated and treated by a plastic, orthopedic, or hand surgeon.
