What does a special stain of a lymph node reveal?

Infection or tumor: Pathologists look for many things with "special stains". Lymph nodes drain tissue and are the sites were infections and or tumors can go, away from their primary sites. Depending on the special stain, the pathologist may be looking for a tumor or an infection caused by fungal or other organisms.
