Family Medicine: I do not know what took you to the er versus seeing the more important family doctor for your problems. But, it surely seems like you need a consultation and plan with your primary care provider. Stress is best managed as a holistic approach in primary care medicine and not as an emergency. Stop the Lorazepam and go see your family physician.

Given for anxiety: Sometimes Lorazepam is given on a short term basis for acute anxiety. However, you should take it only when you experience severe anxiety. If it causes too much drowsiness or impairs your reflexes, coordination or ability to concentrate, then you may need a lower dose or a switch to a less potent med.
