No: The purpose of TPN is to feed an individual who can not eat by mouth. It has all the nutrients and calories you need to survive.

TPN: Tpn is the method in which nutrients are supplied to a person when there bowels are not working. Modern day formulations are practically complete in their formulation including carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, electrolytes, and vitamins.
