A member asked:

Is it true that after getting a bcg vaccination, you have latent tb in you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BCG: No, not true. The bcg vaccination (bacillus calmette–guérin) prevents the more serious complications of potential TB infection in children. People who have received the vaccination will frequently have a positive reaction to the TB skin test, but that does not mean that they have latent tb. The bcg vaccination cannot cause tb.
