A member asked:

I was wondering is anhedonia real and how do you know if someone has it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It feels real.: Anhedonia is generally defined as the inability to experience pleasure from activities usually found enjoyable, e.g. Exercise, hobbies, music, sexual activities or social interactions. For someone who has it, the experience is real. This could be a learned response to one's perceived life, or it might be a symptom of depression or something else. Best to talk to a counselor, or such.
