A member asked:

Can a child be imunized against respiratory syncytial virus and still get it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The use of Palivizumab in high risk infants reduces the risk of an RSV infection but does not prevent it in all cases. Infected infants with this med in their system generally have a very mild illness if they acquire the virus and rarely require hospitalization.
