Whole Milk: It is neither good nor bad. It has 4% milk fat. Low fat milk has 2% milk fat and skim milk has 1 to 1/2% milk fat. What you drink depends on your taste and your daily caloric intake and your age. Very young children need fats to build their brains and bodies so need higher milk fats. Older people do not need the fats and certainly those with cholesterol problems do not need whole milk.

Milk healthy?: Milk from a cow is a good source of high-quality protein, and is fairly healthy (assuming you are tolerant of lactose) as long as you choose skim or 1% milk, both of which cut back the fat content and total calories significantly. Whole milk has 8 grams of fat per cup, which is a bit much.
