Pill side effects: Generally birth control pill side effects are very mild - perhaps a little nausea. Over time your periods may lighten in duration and flow. You may experience a slight weight gain as well over time. Also - certain pills have a beneficial effect on acne. Also - moodiness and menstrual irregularities sometimes are reduced with the pill. Your doctor should be able to review..

Varied: Some women note breast tenderness, bloating, nausea, irregular bleeding during the first 3 months of the pill. If these persist or are intolerable, you can try a different pill. Dangerous but very rare side effects are blood clots, stroke. These are more common with a family history or if you smoke and are older than 35. All side effects and complications are far less than those of pregnancy.
