Hyperventilation?: Perhaps the caffeine in tea has increased your anxiety level leading to hyperventilation- manifested by sob, lightheadedness, and/or tingling on lips and extremities. Do you have the same problem with coffee or decaf-tea?

Stress test?: A stress test is indicated for new ( or recurrent) shortness of breath, particularly in someone with diabetes in whom shortness of breath can be a painless anginal equivalent, particularly in someone with a history of coronary disease. You need a stress test.
