My 5 yr old has croup she gets is it 4/5 times per yr. she's been prescribed atrovent (ipratropium) and cetirizine hydrochloride. don't seem to work! please advise!

May not be croup: Croup would be somewhat unusual at this age (usually up to 3 years old). I wonder if there is some other airway problem. Croup is caused by a virus so there is no medication to prevent it. I would recommend seeing an ENT doctor to find out if there is something else causing these symptoms.
