Blood source: Blood comes from your uterus through the cervix when you're having your period, not the bladder or urethra where the urine comes from. Discolored urine could be due to food you've eaten, meds you're taking, or due to something going on in your bladder or kidneys. Your doctor can probably diagnose what's going on in the office with an exam and some tests.

Period: Menstrual blood is shed from the uterus through the vagina. It has no relation to your bladder or urine. If you are having abnormal colored urine you should consult your doctor. Good luck!
