Unlikely: While it is unclear to me why you needed intravenous iron infusion, the fact is that one of the side effects of this infusion is muscle and joint pain. 40% of patients receiving Iron Dextran intravenously will have this side effect. One study using Prednisone given around the time of iron infusion reduced the frequency and severity of this side effect.
