Worth a try...: I know of no research studies on shamanic psychotherapy ; even it there were it would not mean much as it probably depends a great deal on the skill of the shaman. I have no doubt that some shamans can help people to heal from conditions that have not responded to conventional approaches. It's unlikely to have any negative effects so i believe it is worth trying. Hope you find a good practitioner!

Last resort???: I'm concerned how you came to the conclusion that "shamanic therapy" is a "last resort." it's not a generally accepted treatment, and not supported by research. I don't know what kind of psychotherapy you've had or the credentials of the people you've seen, but there are many, many forms of psychotherapy and types of therapists. Shamanic therapy is not remotely your "last resort.".
