A member asked:

Been using vagisial wash for ph balance for a long time and recently ran out and used soap now have pain bumps on my vaginal what could they be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ouch: You should never use soap on your vagina, as can cause allergic reaction and pain. The outer part of the vagina, the vulva, can be washed with a gentle soap, but the vagina (the most inside of the labia or lips), doesn't need to be washed. The painful bumps may be an allergic reaction to the soap. If doesn't go away soon and you are sexually active, make appt for exam to ensure not a std.
