Not normal: If you are sexually active, then the first thing to do is to check a pregnancy test. If that is negative, then consider that some women bleeding during the middle of their cycle related to ovulation. If the bleeding, though, is as heavy as a period, then perhaps a visit to an ob/gyn would be indicated.
