Yes: A condom placed before sexual contact will prevent spread of hpv. But oral or anal sex needs a condom also or warts ; hpv related oral throat vocal cord and anal warts or cancers can develop.

No: Hpv is easily to be transmitted. It can be transmitted through skin contact, saliva for instance. You do not need to have sexual intercourse to transmit it. Thus, condom is not effective to protect you against hpv.
