Avoid: Unfortunately baby turtles can carry a bacteria called salmonella which can cause very serious infections. If i were you, i wouldn't have a turtle around you.

No: Turtles carry bacteria especially salmonella which can be especially dangerous in pregnancy, the sale of turtles under 4 inches has been banned in the us since 1975. The bacteria is also dangerous to infants young children.
