A member asked:

Can heat lamps cause skin cancer? i work at mcdonald's and our fry station uses heat lamps.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Heat lamps put out infrared light which keeps the food and your hands warm when under the lamp. Skin cancer can be caused by uv light, just like in sunlight, and heat lamps are not designed to emit uv light.
