Possible: It is very possible to pass the herpes virus by kissing your child if you have an active lesion near the mouth. Via soap however, this is highly unlikely as the virus would not be sustainable on an object such as that for any length of time.

Be specific: Herpes 1 is transmitted to most children, usually without symptoms. Herpes 2 is also common, but less so, and transmitted mostly by sexual activity. Do you have herpes? 1 or 2 or both? How old is the child? Eczema? Is the child healthy? Kissing maybe. Soap no.
