Varicocele: While every surgical procedure has risks, for the treatment of varicocele embolization is a minimally invasive and safe treatment method. The open surgery is a quite effective but is much like a hernia repair and has increased risk of damage to the sperm duct and nerves in the region. Risks of both procedure are quitelow. Most patients select embolization due to the much quicker recovery and minimally invasive nature.
