A member asked:

What is definition of maldigestion and please explain the symptoms of maldigestion ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Here goes...: Maldigestion is when your food does not get broken down (digested) in your gut (due to problems with pancreas, bile flow, hyperacidity, enzyme problems like lactase deficiency, sibo, etc.). Malabsorption is when your digested food is not absorbed by the gut (due to inflammation like crohn's, dysmotility, mucosal disorders like celiac disease, whipple's disease, tropical sprue, etc). Same symptoms.
