Possibly ovulation: If you are not on a hormonal contraceptive, it could be from ovulating. Some women spot for 1-2 days when they ovulate. If you are on a hormonal contraceptive, it could be breakthrough bleeding.

Cramps and discharge: If nothing has changed in your routine (same partner, no chance of sexually transmitted infection or pregnancy), i would not worry too much. Just wait for your next scheduled period. If there is a chance of the above happenings, rule out pregnancy first, then see your doc to check for the presence of a vaginal infection, urinary tract infection, etc.
