Trichinosis: Pork is a common reservoir for a worm which enters the body through the intestine from raw or undercooked pork. This worm travels through the body but has a preference for the diaphragm and heart and can cause breathing difficulties, even death. It is probably the reason some religions have a stigma against pork.;.
