Many causes: There are many causes of eye pain. Please provide additional history or symptoms so we can offer a differential diagnosis. If the eye pain is severe, associated with vision loss, light sensitivity or swelling he should see an eye doctor to rule out infection, foreign body, inflammation, allergy or high ocular pressure (among other things). Try artificial tears to wash out ; lubricate the eyes.
