Tuning out: Reinforce what you are asking or telling your daughter until she gets the message praise her when she listens but be patient.

Listening: Many 3 year olds have trouble listening due to distractions and being very involved with whatever activity they are engaged in at time of being told to do something else. They are also in the very independent stage of life. However this age usually responds well to rewards and attention. Whatever they get attention for they continue. If no change in behavior or concern re hearing have checked.
