SEROTONIN SYNDROME: Serotonin syndrome happens when medications like ssri like zoloft (sertraline) , Celexa are taken along with medications like tramadol. The excess serotonin activity produces a spectrum of specific symptoms including cognitive, autonomic, and somatic effects. The symptoms may range from barely perceptible to fatal.

Serious reaction: with use of 1 or more serotonergic meds. Serotonin Syndrome can cause nausea /vomiting /diarrhea, abdominal pain, stiffness or spasm of muscles, fever, shivering, ^ sweating, hallucinations, confusion, restlessness, visual changes, ^ Heart rate, tremor, lack of coordination, seizure, bp changes, dilated pupils, In some rarer cases, coma or death can occur.
