Tachycardia?: It seems like you suffered from an episode of supra ventricular (svt) or normal sinus tachycardia. Typically svt presents like this. If it was self limited, nothing to worry about. If it recurs, consult with your physician to get a holder monitor. Also, make sure you don't have diabetes. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), common in type 1 diabetes can cause it too.

Listen to your body: That was an adrenaline rush that can come from low blood sugar but having an infection in your body like a tooth abscess could be an aggravating factor. Since you take xanax (alprazolam) you may have a tendency to having an exaggerated adrenal response especially when the medication wears off.
