A member asked:

Want to eat plenty of plain yogurt while on doxycycline to prevent yeast, gut symptoms. if i eat it hours after my dose, will still interfere w doxy?

Doxycycline ; dairy: Dairy products can interfere with the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics, including doxycycline, but the clinical significance is unclear. Tetracycline antibiotics can upset the stomach, so it is sometimes advised to take them with food, although they are best absorbed on an empty stomach. If you eat yoghurt 2 or more hours after you take the tetracycline, you should be okay.
