No: This is what we would call breakthrough bleeding. It is common but not normal. Most often it's due to swings or fluctuations in hormones. At 39 years of age you should see a gynecologist for evaluation. It's possible that he or she will want to perform a biopsy to make sure there are no precancer cells as the cause for this a regular bleeding good luck!
