Spasm is still there: If you're having sharp pains in the morning, it depends where you're having those pains that will determine what the problem is. Best if you go see your doctor, so they can do a physical examination of your affected leg. You may still have muscle spasm from the sprained ankle in that leg, or you may have a shin splint, that you might be unaware of. It's worth having this looked into.

Many possibilities: Your pain could be as a result of many different things. A thorough history and physical exam and possibly some laboratory and radiology exams are needed to determine the exact cause.
