If i were to fracture a growth plate, it is a broken bone correct? so wouldn't i have a loss of mobility with that limb and pain for weeks?

See below: At age 18 it would be doubtful that you would break a growth plate. By this age all growth plates would be closed. But yes it would be a broken bone but you may not lose mobility depending on which growth plate.
