I am 6 weeks pregnate today and i was wondering if taking metronidazole is safe, my doctor gave me 500mg and told me to take two a day. ?

Depends: This depends on what exactly you are treating. Ideally, we tend to not give oral Metronidazole during pregnancy, and if they are just treating a vaginal infection, the Metrogel cream is much safer. If they are treating something else, then consider that there are safer medications for almost any infection.
