Probably a cold: The common cold is the likely explanation but if the problem persists or worsens, see your pediatrician. In the meanwhile, honey may possibly help his cough (cough medicine does not seem to work in children) and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may possibly reduce his runny nose. The duration of cold symptoms should not exceed 10 days however.
