Yes, normal: Back pain is a normal side effect of Levonorgestrel (next choice). Use of ibuprofen/tylenol, heating pad, gentle stretching, etc would probably help your back pain. If it continues or becomes worse/severe, or you start having other symptoms (pain/numbness/tingling down legs, bladder/bowel incontinence, etc) please see your doctor. Good luck!
