Sunscreen, Retinols: In treating hyperpigmentation, it is extremely important to minimize sun exposure through sun protection and sunscreen. Products containing retinols may help to even pigmentation. There are a number of prescription medicines that help reduce excess pigment. A newer product called elure contains lignin peroxidase a natural chemical found in trees that bleaches the color of tree bark.
