A member asked:

Is pain normal after having herniorrhaphy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Hernia repair involves the reapposition of separatewd connective tissue usually surrounding the abdomen. For several days the area of reapproximation will respond to any activity with more than noticeable pain. This will rapidly disappear as the tissues heal but there is good anti-pain medicine for the period of time before healing takes place.
