You did not say what: Meds were ordered. Of they were like Ibuprofen or for muscle relaxation and you are feeling better it is probably safe to wait. If in doubt visit your gyn for a second opinion before an expensive test.

Good idea: If you are having increased lower abdominal discomfort and an ultrasound was recommended, it's always a good idea to follow through. Ultrasounds confer no radiation and are very safe. If there was a cyst there or something on ovary, you definitely would want to know about it at age 52. Get the ultrasound so you can be reassured that everything is okay. Good luck!
