Please provide some do's and don'ts on living with cystic fibrosis.

Ignore: CF treatment includes high protein and high calorie meals to offset weight loss/ CF GI problems.

Ignore: Living with cf-do inhaled meds exactly as prescribed . Get flu vaccine. Don't be around sick people.

Ignore: DO try a high calorie diet to get enough nourishment. DO try and get some exercise. DON'T smoke !

Ignore: Using your preventive medication and hydration with periodic pulmonary checks.

Ignore: Make sure you're plugged into a cystic fibrosis center in order to live longer. http://www.cff.org.

Ignore: Young man with repeated lung infections thick secretions and impotence must check Cystic Fibrosis.

Ignore: General lung health and nutrition are closely linked. Eat high calorie diets with increased fat!

Ignore: Be diligent about taking your vitamins and doing your respiratory treatments when you have CF!

Ignore: To help keep the lungs clear, it is important to do an airway clearance thru percussion and drainage.

Ignore: Adequate fluid intake, mobilize secretions with chest percussion, flu and pneumonia vaccines.

Ignore: Teenagers may rebel and refuse to do their pulmonary toilet. Get psychol help! Fatality rate high!!
