Please provide some do's and don'ts on dealing with ringworm.

Ignore: Lamisil (terbinafine) works put it 1" around the outside of rash and continue 5 days after rash is gone.

Ignore: Don't touch infected cats and dogs as they can spread ringworm to you.

Ignore: Don't scratch. Do seek medical treatment. Do try over-the-counter antifungal cream: LotriminAF.

Ignore: Do keep the affected skin clean and dry, and wash all clothing and bedding daily.

Ignore: Do not be embarrassed about ringworm or treat with steroid creams. Do see a doctor for medication.

Ignore: Curing ringworm may require several weeks of topical treatment.

Ignore: Try OTC terbinafine (Lamisil) cream first. It's contagious so keep it covered.

Ignore: A fungal infection that will respond to topical anti-fungal creams applied twice per day.

Ignore: Don't use Corticosteroids for ringworm but do use an anti-fungal like Lotrimin (clotrimazole) or Miconazole.

Ignore: First make sure it is ringworm Second try OTC lamisil (terbinafine) cream 2x a day, if not clear see derm.

Ignore: Get a correct diagnosis. Determine the source. Try antifungal cream & a week of terbinafine pills.

Ignore: Wash hands with soap and water every time you scratch the ring worm to avoid spreading it.

Ignore: Don't use bleach on ringworm, keep covered , and use anti fungal creams as prescribed.
