What is cause?: What to do about an episode of vomiting (Emesis) is directly related to what is causing it. If there is blood in the vomitus, it is usually an urgent problem, so see a doc or go to the ER. If it is from something you ate, just drink clear fluids--ginger ale is often helpful. If it is self-induced, then you need to find out why you are doing it and how to manage it.
