Egypt: Unfortunately, due to a mass vaccination program in the 70s, where the same needle was used on multiple patients, many patients in egypt contracted hepatitis c. Of note, patients in the middle east are more likely to have genotype 4, whereas most patients in the U.S. Have genotype 1.
