I have neck pain that is very bothersome i seem to have crawling under the skin. could this be a nerve thing and if so what is the cure? please help

Possible: You may have nerve root irritation. I recommend seeing someone experienced in diagnosing cervical spine issues. Inflammation around a nerve root can cause these issues, including the sensations you are mentioning. Once an exam has been done, and possible imaging, you may need physical therapy, as well as other therapeutic modalities to calm the issue.

Yes a Nerve Thing: Nerves have a whole host of sensations when they are irritated: burning, pinching, stabbing, electric-like, cool water sensation, warm water sensation, numbness, pins ; needles and even insect crawling sensation. Consider a neck evaluation with a spine specialist to see what your options maybe for treatments.
