Insist on an answer: Junior needs to be seen. Cancer's unlike at 17 without a strong family history. If there is any concern that this is serious disease, he needs colonoscopy. If the spleen is big, an explanation needs to be found. It would be appropriate to check junior for porphyria and hypothyroidism. If you are not satisfied with any answer you get, or junior is not satisfied, demand a second opinion.
