A member asked:

Basophils: if wbc is 7.5, and the basophils are 1.2%, would the absolute basophils count be .09, or rounded to .1?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It doesn't matter: Life is not exact, so 0.09 is the same number as 0.10. The WBC count of 7.5 usually means 7500, which could be 7456 or 7520 or 7549... That's why we say "numbers are just numbers". Doctors will look at the whole picture to see what the numbers mean.
