Go outside: You should be fine. The doctor meant do not shower or bathe for a few days. Depending on the procedure, most dressings can be removed and the incision cleansed with soap and water. We usually ask patients to shower, rather than bathe for a couple of weeks, so as not to immerse the incision.

Plastic wrap: If you are concerned about the care of the wound, you can call the doctors office, but sometimes one can just wrap the area with plastic wrap and it keeps the dressing from getting wet.
