Depends on the cause: You can stay well hydrated and try a fiber supplement. If it is short lived from a virus it should resolve in a day or two. If it is a a chronic problem see your doctor to find out the cause.

Depends on the cause: There are various causes of diarrhea. For minor cases, i recommend avoiding roughage during the acute phase and take kaopectate as needed. If no relief take Imodium (loperamide) for a day or two only. If diarrhea persists or worsens, consult your physician.

Diarrhea: It is not recommended to stop the diarrhea usually because would like the bugs that caused it to come out as soon as possible be in virus, bacteria, or food poisoning. Some chronic diarrhea like ulcerative colitis needs to be stopped. I am assuming it is acute and not chroic. Hydrate yourself very well with water or electrolyte solution, eat yogurt or butter milk. Avoid bad food.

Mantain Hydration: Drink-- water, broth, or fruit juice -- during the day to stay hydrated. Try to get about 2-3 liters (8-12 cups) a day while you’re sick. There is no particular food group that will best for treating diarrhea and physicians no longer recommend the long suggested BRAT diet. Most of the time diarrhea doesn't need to be treated.Loperamide (Imodium) slows the movement of food . Pepto-Bismol also helps.
